About Good Knights of Lorain County

A Cause Worth Supporting

Founded in 2020 by Roger Dorsey, Good Knights emerged from a deeply personal mission to end child bedlessness in Lorain County. Having experienced bed insecurity firsthand, Dorsey established the organization to ensure that no child sleeps on the floor

Good Knights operates through a two-step process: "Build Days," where volunteers construct bed components, and "Delivery Days," during which assembled beds are delivered to families. When funding allows, each bed comes with a new mattress, pillow, sheet set, and blanket.

The organization collaborates with social service agencies, schools, and other nonprofits to identify families in need. Individuals can also apply directly through Good Knights' website to request a bed.
